Digital Games : contributions to the teaching and learning of mathematics

It appears that the difficulties in teaching and learning Mathematics is not something new. Thus, with the advancement of technological resources, it is necessary to create innovative methodologies that accompany this process and that are disconnected from the traditional model, in order to enable dialogue between student, teacher and the discipline in the educational environment, as well as a meaningful learning. In this sense, digital games emerge as a didactic-pedagogical instrument that have benefits for educational practices. This work had as main objective to present the contributions of the use of two digital games (Building squares and Power of Operations) for the teaching and learning of Mathematics to be used in the final years of Elementary School (6th to 9th grade) as a didactic-pedagogical proposal. The study was classified as applied, with a qualitative and exploratory approach. The results showed that the use of digital games in the teaching of Mathematics can contribute to a dynamic, attractive and meaningful learning for the student, as it is a pleasurable activity, which stimulates concentration and the development of logical reasoning, as well as favorable skills. to the solving of mathematical problems.
